We are AT family!

On the weekend before last, I was in an extremely good mood and felt completely relaxed for the first time that I didn’t go home. Until now, I still can’t forget those precious memories during the orientation camp of our department.

 First Day (Oct.19)

The place where we held activities was an rural elementary school in Xindian. We got there at about 7p.m., and then took part in the opening ceremony excited. Our seniors prepared lots of programs for us, including sexy dances and funny drama, so the atmosphere changed quickly. Afterwards, it was the time for a frightening activity, called “educational activity at night!” We walked around the campus with each other, watching our seniors act as terrifying figures and trying to come up with the fact of a certain dark and bloody scandal in a hospital. Though the process really scared all of us and we even didn’t figure out that strange outcome, we still thought it was cool.

Second Day (Oct.20)

We woke up so early that everyone looked very tired. However, this situation rapidly faded away after we finished a cute and funny morning dance for several times. Expecting our reflection in advance, our seniors seized the chance and let the outdoor activities in morning firmly begin. Likewise, we played games in assigned groups. With the leadership of our team’s seniors, we fought against other teams hard as well as tried our best to please those seniors who had powers to give us points. During the process, we knew each other deeply and got many points. And in the evening, we used what we earned to buy dinner materials and happily had a delicious hotpot dinner.

On the other hand, we also spent the whole afternoon learning plenty of dances, like the ballroom dance. (The movements were so hard that it took me much time to practice.) It was obvious that the ball was the activity that most people were looking forward to because everyone arrived on time and dressed in own high school uniform without being reminded. And actually it was really great, both seniors and we dancing wildly. Though dancing with boys made me feel embarrassed and a little uncomfortable, I still enjoyed it very much. Meanwhile, people in our department seemed to get closer through the interaction. To my joy, I also got to know many classmates and became good friends with them. After this activity was over, we even went for a walk together and lay on the playground watching stars. The night sky was extremely beautiful, particularly watching with all of them.

 Third Day (Oct.21)

It was the last day. And the most exhausting activity, Role-Playing Game, finally appeared! We run all the morning, passed various challenges, and tried hard to finish the game. The course was too complicated to explain in details. Only people who play and experience the situation can realize how interesting and brainstorming the game is. Overall, we got the fifth prize and all of us worn out after the game. But I want to say that it is a special game and I will definitely play it again even if my feet will seriously hurt.

In the afternoon, we played the game of throwing water ball and performed small dramas that we created ourselves. Because we had to go back to school at a certain time, the end of our welcome camp was a little hurried. Nevertheless, this activity of Accounting Department brought lots of feelings to me and made me feel that we are a real family. By this chance, we recognized one another. And I believe we will get closer and closer in the future four years. I believe it. J

Let's celebrate the Double Tenth Day~

Last Tuesday night, there were so many people using Facebook that I was extremely surprised when I signed in. Everyone was excited about the coming of the Double Tenth Day. In order to express their happiness, they changed their profile pictures into the pictures of our national flag and posted plenty of articles, which told others what they would do during the following holiday. Feeling the passion, my roommates and I suddenly wanted to do something special. Therefore, we discussed seriously and eventually come out of a good plan.

At 1 a.m., we left for the NCCU canteen and took three cans of beers to the counter lively. The shopkeeper looked at us with a strange smile and asked us about why we bought these at midnight. Without thinking, I involuntarily said, “To celebrate the Double Tenth Day.” (Actually we had wanted to try this for a long time.) Then all of them burst into laughter, and they also agreed drinking for our country was a good explanation. In this way, we had a very funny talk there. My roommates and I chatted all the way back to our room. And after sneaking back to our dormitory with the beers, we kept chatting. We drank beers, cheered with one another, and talked about our high school lives, family members, as well as my favorite gossips. By the activity of the celebration, I understood my friends more deeply, and really had a great time. My recent annoying feeling unexpectedly disappeared because of it, and the happiness remains until now. For me, it was a super memorable day, and I will remember it forever!

Happy Moon Festival

After expecting for three weeks, I eventually went home last Friday. This was my first time to leave my hometown and live without my family, so I really missed all of them. By the chance of the Moon Festival, I gave myself an excuse of returning. With excitement, I even set off three hours earlier than the arrival time. Though the distance is so far that I must go by bus, MRT and train to reach my destination, I didn’t feel tired at all. The only thing on my mind was how I could go back to Taichung as soon as possible.

At 20:00, I arrived in Tanzi. When I walked out of the station, I saw my mother right away, and I burst into tears without any reason, which made her laughed. Then we chatted on our way home, just like what we always did before. When we got home, others were waiting for us to eat dinner. And all of them surrounded me, asking me about my college life. It really touched me. Everyone and everything didn’t change, and I deeply felt the warm feeling in family, which successfully calmed down my nervous and impatient emotion. Though we did nothing special in the following two days, I was extremely happy. That is because I think I have the best family in the world. As long as staying with them, it seems my troubles will disappear automatically. With their supports, I feel I have more courage to face and overcome various difficulties.

It was an ordinary festival, but I really had a good time. I enjoy the simple happiness in my life, and want to share with all of you.
